FAQ

All of our patients notice change within a couple of treatments.

That would be great! However the written report or letter from your Consultant would be even more helpful.

This will depend on a lot of factors but you will be given a rough timeframe after your initial consultation and first treatment.

Physios are medical professionals who train in teaching hospitals alongside Doctors. Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists also do extensive postgraduate training just focussing on musculoskeletal problems. They are therefore specialist practitioners in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal problems and so we would only refer you for investigations like X-ray or MRI if your condition is not improving with treatment or if you have worrying symptoms.

All sessions are carried out in a private treatment room so it’s as you wish. If you have a shoulder, neck or back complaint it may be a good idea to wear a vest top with thin shoulder straps. If you have a knee or ankle problem it may be a good idea to bring shorts with you.

We tend to use fairly gentle techniques as pain should be respected. However where stiffness is causing pain one needs to push a little more into pain but only as tolerated by the patient.

You are more than welcome to bring a friend or family member with you and they can join you in the treatment room.

An initial consultation is up to 45 mins and follow ups 30.

All of our treatments are backed by research. From analysis of our current patients we have 90% success rate.

Absolutely, we will naturally refer you if necessary or if it is your wish.

Physiotherapy is a science degree based health profession which is NHS recognised and evidence-based meaning the conscientious use of current best evidence in making decisions about patient care.

Physiotherapy treatment corrects and improves the body’s own natural healing processes so that they are optimised, thus speeding up recovery and enabling our patients to become pain free more quickly.

It takes a holistic approach involving the patient in their own care, through education, awareness, empowerment and participation in their treatment. For example in more chronic cases, where the pain has developed over a long period, a large region of their body will be assessed as a dysfunction in one area can cause further dysfunction in another area. This is also true of referred pain.

"Sally has been helping me with various issues, and despite (due to Covid) us only being able to consult online has helped me hugely. She is skilful, knowledgeable and able to quickly identify problems and solutions. She is able to clearly explain different exercises and demonstrate them over video link, and I have seen great benefits and progress from week to week. This is combined with a patient, kind and caring demeanour. I can thoroughly recommend her services, and sure she would be even better in person when the situation allows for this!"
